本のタイトルは『弘前学園聖愛高校 原田一範物語 りんごっ子で日本一』（泰斗舎・２０１４年刊）。
同校野球部は２０１３年、夏の甲子園に初出場を果たした。その甲子園では、青森県出身者だけのナインで、ベスト16に進出し、県内外の話題をさらった。
甲子園でのお立ち台でインタビューに応じる原田監督の受け答えにピンときて、大会後すぐ、知人を介して出版企画を提案し、快諾をいただいた。
取材は計８回、４か月に及んだが、いつも目に飛び込んできたのは、グラウンドの真正面にデンと鎮座する岩木山だった。
最高の借景（しゃっけい）！
筆者は、訪ねる度にそう思った。
借景とは？ 辞書で引くと、「造園技巧の一つ。庭園外の山や樹木の風景を、庭園の一部としてとり入れたもの」（『日本国語大辞典』小学館）とある。
岩木山を借景として最大限に生かしている庭園と言えば、弘前公園に他ならない。特に公園本丸からの眺めは、春夏秋冬を問わず、まさに絶景である。
グラウンドの場合、借景という表現は当たらないのだろう。
しかし、背景の岩木山は、やはり借景であり、主景は土にまみれる部員たちの姿、と筆者には映った。
この岩木山は、原田監督にとって、どんな存在なのだろうか。
尋ねてみると。
「私にとって岩木山は、何があっても見守ってくれている存在です。グラウンドで練習している中、順調な時も逆境の時も、いつも見守ってくれてます。勝って帰ってきても、負けて帰ってきても、いつも『おかえりなさい』と受け入れてくれています。そんな母親のような存在です」
味があって、実（じつ）がある答えが返ってきた。

Mt. Iwaki-４ Borrowed scenery
I once interviewed Kazunori Harada, manager of the hardball baseball team at Hirosaki Gakuin Seiai High School, for a book.
The title of the book is "Hirosaki Gakuen Seiai High School: Harada Kazunori Story Ringokko de Nippon-ichi" (Taitosha, 2014).
The school's baseball team made its first appearance at the summer Koshien tournament in 2013. At the Koshien, the team made it to the last 16 with a lineup consisting only of players from Aomori Prefecture, and the team was the talk of the town and the prefecture.
I was so impressed by Harada's answers to the questions he gave in an interview on the grandstand at Koshien that I proposed a publication plan through an acquaintance soon after the tournament, and he readily agreed.
During the eight interviews that I conducted over a period of four months, I was always struck by the sight of Mount Iwaki, which sits directly in front of the ground.
The best borrowed scenery!
I thought so every time I visited.
What is "borrowed scenery"? According to the dictionary, "It is one of the landscaping techniques. It is one of the landscaping techniques, in which the scenery of mountains and trees outside the garden is incorporated as a part of the garden" (Japanese Dictionary, Shogakukan).
Hirosaki Park is the only garden that makes the most of Mt. The view from the park's main circle is especially spectacular in spring, summer, autumn and winter.
In the case of a ground, the expression "borrowed scenery" is probably not applicable.
However, the background of Mt. Iwaki was a borrowed scenery, and the main scenery was the members of the club covered with soil.
What kind of existence does this Mt. Iwaki have for Director Harada?
I'll ask him.
" Mt. Iwaki is always watching over me, no matter what happens. When we are practicing on the ground, whether things are going well or in times of adversity, they are always watching over us. Whether we come home with a win or a loss, she always accepts us and says, 'Welcome home. She's like a mother to me."
The answer came back with taste and substance.
